Cremation

As you prepare for end-of-life, it is important to understand all of your aftercare options.  Everyone has different needs.  What is important to remember is that whatever you choose, it should reflect the love and devotion you hold for your friend.  No request is too big or too small.

You may choose to keep your pet for burial or Home to Heaven provides transporation of your companion for cremation. You may choose which crematory you would like or Home to Heaven can choose for you.  All of the local crematoriums are courteous, professional, and will cater to your needs.  Cost of cremation is determined by weight, which will be calculated for you and payment collected during the euthanasia appointment, unless otherwise arranged.

Cremation Services
Private cremation – your pet will be cremated privately and the ashes returned to you.  Each crematory has their standard presentation of the ashes.  You can also choose a special urn or keepsake box at the crematory if you prefer.

Communal cremation – your pet will be cremated with other pets and the ashes will not be returned.  Communal ashes will be spread according to the individual crematory's method.

Chemical cremation – this is a form of disposal performed by Colorado State University's Veterinary Teaching Hospital. This method is the most economical for families with limited funds.  If you choose this cremation, you have the option to donate your companion's body for teaching purposes so that students and faculty may learn from their underlying conditions.  Many families choose this option because of the positive light that can be shed over the illness and loss of their friend.

Cemetery Burial
Cemetery burial – this is available at Precious Memories for an additional fee. Please contact them for pricing and options.
